Our rooms
The Skylark's Rest is a small hostel (maximum occupancy is 14); however, we offer a range of different room layouts to accommodate individuals, couples, families and small groups. We have also minimised the use of bunk beds (there are only 2) to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
Guests can be accommodated in a
- Single room
- Twin or double room;
- 4-bed dorm room; and,
- Family room with a combination of double and single beds.
Our Rates
The table below has our rates for the year. We also offer a discount for children under 15 years old travelling in the company of their parents/guardians. The hostel will open again on Friday, 2nd March 2012.

As the hostel is relatively small it is best to book in advance to ensure availability.
Groups and full hostel rental
The Skylark's Rest is an ideal accommodation option for small groups and club outings. We've had a range of groups book in with us, including book clubs, mountain biking groups and hill-walking clubs. Full hostel rental is also possible for your group. Please contact us to discuss your group's needs or get further information on full hostel rental.

- All bed linen and bed clothes are provided, however, we do not provide towels.

We have a 'no shoes' policy in the hostel so you might want to bring something to wear on your feet inside.
Local amenities and services
We are 500 metres from the village of Roundwood. Roundwood caters very well for visitors with a good range of options for eating out and a well stocked supermarket for those who'd prefer to prepare their own meals. As well as the shops, pubs and restaurants, there's an ATM/cash machine, a pharmacy, post office, hardware store and beauty salon, among others.
