Angling for brown trout (by artificial fly only) is available on the shores of the lower Vartry Reservoir in Roundwood (1st Mar - 12th Oct). A permit is needed for fishing here; these are issued from Vartry Waterworks located beside the lower reservoir. Alternatively, you can enjoy some relaxing fishing on a peaceful 4 acre fly fishing lake on the banks of the Avonmore River at nearby Annamoe Trout Fishery . All equipment and accessories can be hired at the fishery. Casting tuition can also be arranged. |
