Welcome to The Skylark's Rest where we provide high standard accommodation for budget conscious outdoor enthusiasts and visitors to the Roundwood area. You can be assured of clean, comfortable accommodation in a relaxed atmosphere.
We're only 500 metres from Roundwood village, on the doorstep of an area of outstanding natural beauty that offers a wealth of opportunities for your enjoyment from hillwalking, mountain biking and rock-climbing to more rhythmic pursuits like golf and angling.
We are perfectly located for a comfy overnight rest if you're walking the very popular Wicklow Way, especially the Knockree - Roundwood or the Roundwood - Glendalough sections. We're just 2km from the Wicklow Way as it passes by Roundwood.
Relax in the lounge room in the evening after exploring all the area has to offer, make use of the fully equipped self catering kitchen or stroll down to the village to sample some of the local fare in the pubs and restaurants. We are an ideal accommodation option for small group outings or club events and full hostel rental is possible. Feel free to contact us to discuss your group's needs.
The Skylark's Rest is easily accessible for those travelling without their own transport. Roundwood is on the route of the St. Kevin's Bus, which operates a twice daily service to and from Dublin city centre. http://www.glendaloughbus.com/index.html
The Skylark's Rest is a small, independently owned hostel. Sinéad will be on here to meet you when you arrive. She has backpacked around many parts of the world, including Europe, South East Asia and New Zealand and knows what's needed to ensure you have a comfortable and restful stay.
We look forward to welcoming you to our cosy little place in the heart of the Wicklow hills.
The hostel will close on 1st November 2011 for the winter and will re-open in March 2012.
